Our New Home

Well, we have been here for a week! I can't believe it. It has gone by really fast. I am sure tired of boxes, though. It feels like all I have looked at for a month is boxes... but now they are all empty and ready to go out in the recycling!

We were so blessed to find this home. It is in a beautiful area full of trees and about 1/2 mile from a small lake! Last night we went to Cinema Under The Stars a free outdoor movie that the city of Everett puts on during the summer! It doesn't get dark here until after 9:30 so it was a pretty late night for the kids, but we really enjoyed it.

It has been hard being in a new place. We can't find anything without a GPS, how does anyone get around here without it, there's so many trees you can never tell where you are! There's no friends to ride bikes with or meet at the park, so we've had to improvise! We found the public library and the city website with the list of free things to do all summer, and so we are trying to keep busy!

We are lucky to have a big backyard and en extra room in the house just for toys! Really we feel like this is the perfect place for us. It's just a challenge getting back into life. Any suggestions?

We've been in our new home over 2 months now, and we still have boxes. My thing is I try to unpack as much as I can (all the essentials), and then get boxes into closets. That way, I can go my own speed to unpack, and not have to worry about people coming over and having to apologize for all the boxes. Good luck! Congrats on the new house! It looks great! (P.S. We miss you!)

WOW the kids are so big. I'm so happy you have a house and are unpacked.

I have a friend from college that lives in Everett. She has kids probably really close in age to your kids. Do you want me to get you guys in contact?

I am glad you are happy! The outside of the house is nice. I prayed for great friends to come my way, and I have some of the best. You are so wonderful! Before you know it, you will be comfortable with your surroundings, and have great friends. We love and miss you guys lots!

It took us a while to get settled in. A great help was when we finally got to our new ward and met some people with kids the same age as ours. Then the play-dates can begin.

I feel for you on the trees thing. We have the same problem out here. We've been in GA over a year and I still need the GPS. I hope they at least have street lamps and side walks out there, because they sure don't believe in them here.

From Dad...I am glad that you have your new home and that you are searching for friends. I am sure that you will find them and fill your backyard with lots of friends and then have a BBQ!
