Kyla, Euan, Lily, and the Glass Ball

Kyla, Euan, and Lily decided to drive over from Ellensburg and spent a few days with us this week. We had a lot of fun and the kids played like crazy together. It was awesome to have children independently entertained for so long! The first evening they were here, we decided to go on a little walk. We pushed a stroller with 2 kids, Josh carried Jorgan on his back, Euan rode his bike, and Liz rode her scooter. We found a little park hidden inside a little housing community right next to our neighborhood. So here's some pictures of the kids playing!
Here's Liz and Euan sitting out front waiting for us to get the kids all situated.

Rachel and Lily enjoying their cookie in the stroller.

Here's Jorgan and Daddy all ready to go!

This is Lily... She was too scared to go down the slide at all, until she watched Jorgan go down all by himself. I guess her little ego said, "Hey! Don't get shown up by a baby!"

On Saturday we took the kids to an art Festival that the city puts on every year. As part of the festival, they have an annual float find. There is a glass blowing company that makes 200 glass floats (glass balls) and they hide them all along 2 miles of beach. They hide them good too! Most people find them buried in the sand! But Elizabeth found one all on her own! It was the only one we found! So here she is the proud owner of a, pretty expensive, glass ball!

Casper Babypants

I signed up on the City's website to get emails about free children's events that the city puts on. Every summer, the city does "Music in the Parks" which basically means that they have musicians come put on concerts in the park. Thursday was Casper Babypants at the Silver Lake park. I took the kids thinking that they would really enjoy it, but mostly they said, "Can we go play now?"

Here's Liz jamming out.

Here's Rachel after I suggested that she dance with her sister.

Here's the girls after Rachel finally decided that dancing might be kind of fun. It lasted for about an entire 30 seconds... I think she was just shy to be dancing with tons of people around that she didn't know.

Here's Jorgan and I. He bobbed his head and smiled and clapped after every song... but he wouldn't get off my lap. Liz took the picture for me! She's getting pretty good!

BTW... it was cold, cloudy, and a little rainy that day. My kids are way under dressed. It's just hard for me to think about bundling up in the middle of August. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to that!!

Silver Lake

We are lucky enough to live about half a mile from a small lake called Silver Lake. The City has 2 parks and a trail around the lake, so on Monday we desided that we should try out the main park and the lake. So here are the kids playing at an awesome park!

I can say this is an awesome park because we had a great weather day! It was nice and warm (you know the in 80's... most people here call that HOT.. but we know better!), and since we are in Washington there are tons of trees to shade us from the sun.
After we played for a while, we took the kids down to the beach to swim. The water was pretty chilly... but my kids never care much about that!

We had a great time and hopefully we will get another Silver Lake day before summer ends :o(

Peacock Family Pictures

Picures of our Home

My mother has been requesting to see some pictures of the inside of our new house in Everett, WA. We love it up here and enjoy the beautiful forest.

This is the front room right when you walk in the door.

2nd Family Room/Toy Room.

This is our kitchen.

This one is the laundry room with the washer and dryer Patti and Davin sold to us for cheap. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Girl Bedroom.

Hallway Bathroom.

Master Bedroom.

Master Bathroom.

Jorgan's room.

These next two are of our backyard in a panaramic shot from our camera.

I tried to upload a virtual tour... but it wouldn't load. I think the file was too big. Hope you enjoy the pictures mom!

The "I Love You" Song

Tonight we were sitting at dinner and I started singing the "I Love You" song to Jorgan. (There are several different versions of the "I Love You" song, and this one was to the tune of the primary song, "Mother, I Love You" but instead of saying mother, I say their name)I usually sing it as dramatically as I can while doing little peek-a-boo sections occassionally. The kids usually think it's pretty funny, and I always sing it with only one name at a time, and kids like to hear their name, so it's usually pretty entertaining for them.
Tonight after I sang it to Jorgan, then Rachel of course said, "Sing it to me next!" Then when hers was over of course Elizabeth said, "Sing it to me now!" When I was done singing to Liz, I looked at her and she started crying. That was not the emotion I was going for, so I asked her what was wrong. This is exactly what she said:

Mom, sometimes you cry when you feel happy

Oh, boy! What a sweet little girl. She was crying because she was happy that I loved her! It was amazing for me to see her feel emotions like that. We snuggled for a long time and she gave me a sweet kiss. I felt the spirit so strong through her sweet innocence. If only we could all love like children love! This world would be a much happier place!
I love my sweet Lizzie! Thank you for being so tender hearted!

It's cold here!

For the past week, this is how the kids have been playing. With coats, long pants, and tennis shoes. I can't believe how cold it is! Luckily it usually starts to warm up after lunch, but still somedays only into the 60s.

Yesterday and today it has been perfect! 70s and 80s all day with bright sunshine! We are really lucky to be in such a beautiful place. I think tomorrow we will go down to the lake and do some swimming! YES!
